In late September Network Rail working in conjunction with Southern Trains, Volker Fitzpatrick, and Lambeth Council partially closed the Greyhound Lane/Streatham Vale Bridge. A complete closure of the bridge, lasting six months will begin on the 3rd of November 2012.
This bridge is the main link between Streatham Vale and Streatham; its closure will do immense damage to local residents and the local economy.
The local community was only given 10 days’ notice of the closure, not consulted about the ‘plan’, and further specific information about the arrangements has been hard to obtain.
This blog documents one Vale residents attempts to get unsafely conducted and poorly planned road-works made safe and get better information to the local community.
